dc.description.abstract Nanotechnology has gained significant attention in several avenues of research including medicine. In cancer, nanotechnology holds potential applications such as cancer diagnosis and delivery of drug for therapy. Recent studies have shown that various nanoparticles have immense potential for the development of targeted drug delivery to the cancer tissue with no or minimal side effects. Despite significant progress been made, a very limited advancement into clinical cancer care is documented. In this review, we summarize the significance of nanotechnology in the drug delivery for cancer therapy, and its associated challenges.
