dc.description.abstract We explore the possibility of extracting the weak phase (Formula presented) from pure tree decays (Formula presented) in a model independent way. The (Formula presented) violating weak phase (Formula presented) can be determined cleanly, without any hadronic uncertainties, as these decay modes are free from penguin pollution. Furthermore, neither tagging nor time dependent studies are required to extract the angle (Formula presented) with these modes. © 2002 The American Physical Society.
