| dc.description.abstract | The nodes in a Mobile Ad-hoc NET work (MANET) do not rely on pre-existing infrastructure and can be highly mobile, thus rapidly changing the topology. In such networks, multi-hop routing is used to achieve large degree of network connectivity and each node in the network acts as a router for its neighbors. Many routing protocols for ad hoc networks have been proposed, to date, like WRP, LAR, FSR, DSR, AODV and ZRP. This paper analyzes these protocols using the GloMoSim (version 2.03) simulator. The scenarios used in the simulation experiments take into account a variety of environmental factors such as node mobility, network size and transmission range that influence protocol performance. The performance of the protocols is compared in terms of their control overhead, packet delivery ratio and average end-to-end delay. | |
