dc.description.abstract An intelligent mobile routing scheme that is adaptive to the time dependent traffic pattern is proposed in this paper. The proposed model is based on a set of intelligent hypotheses that improves the performance with regard to message-link cost to a greater extent. In this paper, it is shown that update of the routing information to selective mobile routers/foreign agents depending on the time of migration of the mobile host reduces the message-link cost and network bandwidth consumption. A new fleeting friend network concept is introduced in lieu of forever friend network. The fleeting friend network is a time dependent set of networks that are responsible for generating maximum amount of traffic for a specific mobile host in a particular time. Performance analysis shows that this dynamic time-dependent adaptive routing scheme is an improvement over the existing schemes.
