dc.description.abstract The control plane is the heart of the Software Defined Networks, so it is mandatory that the work should go efficiently to increase the performance of the network. The challenge in the distributed control plane using multiple controllers is the even distribution of load among all the controllers. If the total load is distributed equally, the controller response time can be decreased and can achieve maximum throughput. This paper presents a Load Management Algorithm that chooses the required amount of load to shift from the heavy load controller to the light load controllers and allows parallel switch migrations in one cycle rather than multiple cycles. Experimental setup using RYU shows that our approach can decrease the load of heavy load controller and better balance the control plane.
