dc.description.abstract Alkyne-Co2(CO)6 complexes, readily available through reduction of CoBr2 with Zn in THF in the presence of alkynes while bubbling carbon monoxide at atmospheric pressure and room temperature, on reaction with CF3COOH give the corresponding cyclopentenones. In the case of alkynylsilane complexes, the corresponding alkenylsilanes are formed.
