dc.description.abstract | Racemic 1,2-diphenyl-1,2-ethanediol is resolved to obtain (S,S)-isomer in 99% ee through complexation with boric acid and (S)-proline. The racemic 1,1,2-triphenyl-1,2-ethanediol has been resolved to give (S)-isomer in 94% ee using (S)-proline alone by refluxing in benzene. | |
