dc.description.abstract The recognition of ADLs is not new to the AAL research field. In a survey for assistive technology it emerged that the recognition of ADLs is ranked highest by health caregivers in order to provide proper assistance to the elderly (Angelique, Chetna, Rahul, Augustus, & Truls, 2013) (Knickman & Emily, 2002). With the increased requirement for activity recognition, the researchers looked at different methods for it. These methods are not similar due to the utilization of different kinds of sensor information for categorization.
