dc.description.abstract In this work, we explore the effect of active-sterile neutrino mixing on oscillation probability and on mass hierarchy sensitivity of currently running long-baseline neutrino experiments. We find that the existence of sterile neutrino can lead to new kind of degeneracies among the oscillation parameters which deteriorate the mass hierarchy sensitivity of NOνA experiment. We also notice that the addition of data from T2K experiment helps in resolving the degeneracies.
