dc.description.abstract We consider a simple model polariton problem and show that the phonons in this system will never exhibit sub-Poissonian statistics. We furthermore observe that the probability distribution of the phonons will be classical at all temperatures, although the polariton complex as a whole can have a nonclassical behavior below a threshold temperature whose value will depend on the photon-phonon coupling strength. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
