dc.description.abstract An upper bound to the ground state energy of a Fröhlich polaron in a magnetic field in two dimensions (2D) is obtained for the first time through a one-phonon Tamm-Dancoff approximation. This energy is shown to be identical to the Brillouin-Wigner perturbative result. © 1989.
