dc.description.abstract The bimolecular rate constants for electron transfer from aromatic triplets to polyaryl carbocations are large and diffusion-controlled even in the limit of high exothermicity. In some cases, although the exothermicity of energy transfer is comparable to that for electron transfer, the latter dominates over the former. © 1993.
