dc.description.abstract Two coaxial Y junctions in Photonic crystal (PhC) were considered for simulation of optical transmission. This coaxial Y junctions forms a funnel shaped structure. An electromagnetic beam of wavelength 1 μm was launched simultaneously at the input ports. The beam was found to propagate and get collected at the output port i.e. electromagnetic waves were found to be getting funneled from a larger area of 20 μm to an area of 4 μm. However, when the width of the defect was decreased, instead of funneling, the beams were found to undergo reflection. © 2011 American Institute of Physics.
