dc.description.abstract We report the regiospecific synthesis of the first chloro-substituted porphycenes as two positional isomers of β-tetrachlorotetramethoxyporphycene. The positional effect of the substituents on these isomers could be clearly distinguished in their structure and photophysical properties.
