dc.description.abstract The reagent prepared in situ in THF under carbon monoxide atmosphere using CoCl2/NaBH4/NaOH reagent system converts benzyl halides into the corresponding carboxylic acids and 2,2′-bis(bromomethyl)biphenyl into the corresponding cyclic ketone in good yields. © 1987.
