Abstract
An enantiopure ligand H2L [Schiff base prepared from (S)-(+)-2-phenylglycinol and 2-hydroxy-5-nitrobenzaldehyde] reacts with CuCl2·2H2O to yield a chiral copper complex [Cu(HL)Cl] (1) that forms right-handed supramolecular helices via O-H⋯Cl-Cu hydrogen bonds. © Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
