dc.description.abstract Most of the materials in the real-life situation are opaque in Terahertz (THz) regime so it is not easy to study the materials transmission properties. Moreover, it becomes more challenging when it is located at remote distance. Therefore, reflection data provides solution for detection of explosive materials in standoff mode. The paper reports the study of the reflection coefficient, refractive index, absorption coefficients and optical impedance of premium explosives like RDX, TNT and Ammonium Nitrate (NH4NO3) mixed in Teflon matrix using time-domain THz spectroscopy. The reflection coefficient ascertained using a modified Fresnel equation.
