dc.description.abstract Cu(I) and Ag(I) coordination polymers of an axially chiral “push–pull” ligand possess respectively 2-D network and helical structures and the coordination mode strongly influences the solid state SHG reduction/enhancement with respect to the free ligand. © 2004 Royal Society of Chemistry.
