Convenient method for the synthesis of N-(ethyloxycarbonyl) ester derivatives from amino acids

Abstract

Amino acids upon treatment with ethyl chloroformate in methanol in the presence of potassium carbonate give the corresponding N-(ethyloxycarbonyl) amino acid ester derivatives in good yields.
