Abstract
A qualitative explanation of the onset field of the second peak in the magnetization curve of Bi1.7Pb0.3Sr2CaCu2O y high temperature superconductors was given. The effect of variation of oxygen concentration on the magnetization was plotted using a Hall sensor, on square and ring shaped samples. The disorder-induced vortex-matter transition was used to explain the origin of the peak.
