dc.description.abstract Indium trichloride and indium triflate were found to be effective catalysts for the acetylation of indoles to 3-acetyl indoles and is reported for the first time in good yield. Indium triflate is also found to be an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of bis-indolylmethane and indolylquinoline derivatives. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
