dc.description.abstract Aniket Jaaware’s Practicing Caste: On Touching and Not Touching is a unique and somewhat audacious rendezvous with caste as thought and rethought through the “operation of touch.” The effort here is to explore some possibilities internal to this work so as to bring newer resources of thought to our discussions of caste in India/South Asia. Rather than combing through the entirety of the work in question, it is essential to capture the sense of vision that constitutes a part of the challenge of Practicing Caste.
