dc.description.abstract Polarized optical spectra of three planar low-spin d8 complexes, Ni(detc)2, NiCl(detc) (PPh3) and Pd(detc)2 (where detc is diethyldithiocarbamate and PPh3 is triphenylphosphine), are reported. The assignments of the spectral transitions were made based on the d-level ordering xy > yz > x2-y2= > xz > z2. The observed spectral bands in all three complexes are correlated with each other. © 1989.
