Abstract
In this study, we report for the first time, the eco-friendly green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) obtained by the reduction of silver acetate using Phyllanthus amarus leaf extract. Appearance of dark brown and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) peak at 425 nm confirms the Ag NPs formation within 5 min from UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Influence of leaf extract quantities and metal concentrations were evaluated to find their effects on NPs synthesis. SEM analysis gives the surface morphology of Ag NPs and it was observed to be spherical in shape. The average particle size of Ag NPs was conformed from XRD and TEM analysis. The antibacterial activity of green synthesized Ag NPs was successfully assessed against various multidrug resistance bacteria.
