dc.description.abstract It is shown that some of the known consistent massive spin-one theories have gauge invariance associated with them. They are obtained by Kaluza-Klein reduction of massless spin-one theories from five dimensions. The common features between these theories and consistent spin-(3/2 theories are discussed. The relation between gauge invariance of the theory and causality of propagation is also discussed. © 1988 The American Physical Society.
