Abstract
Low valent cobalt species, prepared in situ in tetrahydrofuran (THF) by the reduction of CoCl2 with NaBH4/C2H5OH under carbon monoxide, isomerize of alkenes, reduce alkenes, and carbonylate benzyl halides under appropriate conditions. © 1987.
