Abstract
R-(+)-pulegone (1) is transformed to (R)-5-roethy1-2-(phenylsulfiny1)cyclohexanone (5) (65%, 3 steps). Sulfoxide 5 is converted to R-(-)-3,5-dimethy1 eye 1ohex-2-en-1-one (4) (53%, 4 steps) and S-(+)-4 (26%, 3 steps). © 1994, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
