Abstract
Synthesis of (±)-3-methoxythapsene via stereospecific construction of three contiguous quaternary carbon atoms, employing a combination of a Claisen rearrangement and an intramolecular diazoketone cyclopropanation as key reactions, is described. © 2002 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
