Abstract
We demonstrate the occurrence of a narrow transparency resonance, due to the combined action of a coherent mechanical pump and a quantum well, placed in an otherwise nonresonant, macroscopic optomechanical cavity. The presence of a quantum well creates a broad absorption dip at the mechanical resonance frequency in the output probe intensity profile. Subsequent application of mechanical driving gives rise to a very narrow transparency window at the line center. Further, we show that by varying the phase and strength of the external mechanical pump, this macroscopic hybrid optomechanical cavity can be rendered either a perfect absorber or completely transparent for the output fields. These features are illustrated by studying the probe transmission profile and the second-order sideband generation, for specific choice of parameters.
