Abstract
The short baseline neutrino oscillation anomalies from reactor data, LSND, and MiniBooNE point towards the existence of one or more low energy (eV-scale) sterile neutrinos. Moreover, the various extensions of Standard Model (SM) of particle physics require heavy right handed neutrinos to accommodate observed neutrino oscillation data, predict existence of eV-scale sterile neutrino. Though these low energy sterile neutrinos are SU(2):L × U(1)Y gauge singlets, they can mix with active neutrinos and this active-sterile neutrino mixing may affect the measurements of the unknown neutrino oscillation parameters by long baseline experiment. In this regard, in this paper, we investigate the effect of active-sterile neutrino mixing on the physics potential of the long baseline experiment (NO (formula presented) A) in 3+1 oscillation scenario.
