Abstract
Self-assembly of rhenium core-based conjoined bicyclic supramolecule from pyrazole and flexible hexatopic pyrazolyl ligands is demonstrated in a study. The study reports unexpected conjoined bicyclic supramolecular coordination complex (SCC) with free two pyrazolyl motifs via a new type of metal-ligand bonding combinations from Re2(CO) 10, pyrazole, water, and flexible hexatopic pyrazolyl N-donors in a one-pot solvothermal process. The crystals are air and moisture-stable and soluble in DMSO. The FT-IR spectrum of the complex displayed three strong bands, which are the characteristic peaks for the fac-Re(CO) 3 core in the complex.
